Tanned skin is appealing for both men and women as it is the simplest way to emphasize the body. Getting a man tan sounds metro-sexual but the hottest men of Hollywood are carrying the tanned look these days. If you are still new in the world of tanning, you need to learn about the main facts about spray tanning for men. That way, you won’t fall victim to a fake-looking orange glow. Follow this article to ensure you get eye-catching results.

Tanning became immensely popular in the 20th century. However, the health risks caused by the harmful rays of the sun made sun tanning a questionable way of getting a bronzed look. For these reasons, many sunless tanning options reaped in the cosmetic industry, each of which have a list of their pros and cons. Tanning salons became widely popular in the 80’s as they provide safer means of getting a tan. This made tanning easier and safer and hence, by the year 2000, the world was taken by storm with the bronzed look. Spray tan for men helps create a healthy skin tone, not to mention accentuating the muscles.

In spray tanning, tanning solution is sprayed over the body in the form of a mist via a spray tanning gun. The mist is sprayed on the body within a booth which is placed within the salons and spas. The tanning solutions comprise of dihydroxyacetone (DHA) – a chemical which reacts with the dead skin cells found on the upper layer of the skin and then dyes them brown. This gives the skin tone a natural golden-brown look.

If you are deciding on getting a man tan, you should be aware of the contents of the mist. The mist will either be water-based or oil based. If you have sensitive skin, you should opt for a water-based solution. The salon will offer several types of mists which will help you in choosing the level of darkening tone. If you have pale skin, avoid going for the darkest formula for a more natural look. Spray tanning does not make the skin orange, but creates a golden-brown color. As the chemical reaction will only change the skin color temporarily, you don’t have to worry about smear lines or any side-effects. Spray tan for men is 100% safe as the products have been well-tested in advance. Even if you have very fair skin which turns red in the sun instead of brown, you will benefit from this tanning technique.

A spray tan lasts up to 10 days if you have properly maintained it. There are certain measures you can take to make your tan last longer, and fade more evenly. One such measure is applying a moisturizer daily to keep the top layer smooth and intact from shedding. Exfoliation before the spray tan is another way of making a tan last long. Exfoliating will shed off the dead skin cells, making a smoother layer of skin reap which the mist will dye.

Keep in mind that spray tan for men is safe. DHA is approved by the TGA since the 1970’s for external uses. So, make the ladies swoon and get yourself a man tan!

Define Your Abs!

spray on tan

Your abs are fit, toned and ready—but wait, what about your skin? You want every flash of midsection to look fantastic (not flaky!). And like strengthening your core, a little challenging work in this area really pays off. The secret: it’s all about buffing, moisturizing and a bit of magic (otherwise known as contouring), which anyone can master at home. Just follow this 5-step routine for ab-fab results.

Step 1: Moisturize

You should moisturize everyday most of us forget about the torso in favor of the legs, arms and chest. Make up for lost effort—not to mention a long winter—with a moisturizer that also targets problem areas. Our highly absorbent picks hydrate without leaving any residue, while also working to tighten skin.

Step 2: Exfoliate

Sloughing away rough top layers of skin is the key to achieving a flawless finish. If you’ve been exfoliating regularly or are extra-sensitive, opt for a gentle version that won’t irritate. If you have not used a scrub before use something a little stronger, like a salt-based formula. Buff in a circular motion while skin is dry—be sure to get your side-abs and back, as well as the stomach area—and then rinse off in the shower. Follow with a sweep of glycolic acid toner to further refine the surface and then finish with your moisturizer or body oil.

Step 3: Self-Tan

The best way to make any part of your body look more radiant is with self-tanner. “And these days, the best ones give a good, natural glow that’s instantly flattering,” use tinted formulas for abs, which let you see where you’re applying. But remember to go for a light color or self-adjusting option, since you’ll be building on this base in the days to come. After showering, towel off and apply the tanner all over (don’t forget your lower back). Wash your hands afterwards, and be sure your skin is completely dry before getting dressed.

Occasionally, treat yourself to getting your abs sprayed on by a pro if you need to show off those fabulous abs. It worth it and it you will look amazing think of the movie 300 the all the actors in that movie had sprayed on abs they looked fabulous don’t believe me watch the movie and see yourself!

“Hair removal for men.”

men-laser-hair-removalHair removal is necessary for removing unwanted hair from the body. The primary reason for hair removal is to improve one’s looks. However other reasons like bodybuilding, body tattoos, partial beards, reducing body odor etc. also require removal of hair. There are various practical methods available for male body hair removal. Men usually shave for the removal of excessive hair but one cannot shave the entire body.

The best method for men is to go for laser hair removal. The procedure in this method is simple and safe. Chest, neck, abdomen, genital area, legs, and armpits are the various parts of body where men get hair growth. Among these areas men usually prefer to remove the unwanted hair from chest, neck, chin, and genital area. Chest hair growth is a male characteristic and it starts growing after attaining puberty. The attitudes of men towards chest hair have varied from time to time and cultures to culture. Presently the trend is hair removal from the chest. There are several technologies available in the market by which long-term hair growth can be achieved for a longer period for men.

These methods include electrolysis, laser hair removal, intense pulsed lamps etc. 1) ELECTROLYSIS: In this method, a thin metal probe is inserted into hair follicle (in a hair root) and electricity is passed through the probe. Due to this permanent damage is caused to the follicle or hair root, due to which hair stops to grow. 2) LASER HAIR REMOVAL: In this method, a laser causes damage by heating the dark root of the hair where the hair grows and not heating the rest of the skin. It is one of most effective and best hair removal system and suitable for large area. 3) INTENSE PULSED LAMPS OR FLASH LAMP: Here specific wavelengths of light are generated in a flash lamp. The full spectrum and infrared light is transferred to the melanin in the hair follicle or root of the hair thereby damaging the hair root. It is like the laser technology.

“Men’s Skincare Tips.”

skin care tips

Everyday men are considering innovative ways to improve their skin. Here are a few suggestions that can change your appearance for the better.

Basic skincare begins with nice clean skin. A glycolic acid wash not only provides a deeper clean it also helps with getting rid of dead skins. Dead skin cells bind themselves together and it makes the skin appear dull so a good glycolic acid wash plays a key role in not only cleaning your skin but helps to freshen your skin and it helps new skin cells develop. There are many inexpensive ones that you can pick up for around $10.00 like Anthony Glycolic Acid Wash or Jack Black Deep Dive Glycolic Facial Cleanser for around 20.00.

It can’t be stressed enough how important moisturizer can be to your daily skin regime. Many times, one of the biggest improvements you can do for yourself is investing in a good moisturizer and I’ll tell you why. One day I happen to be in the skincare section browsing at the latest anti-aging products and the sales lady came over and I asked if the had anything new out because I started noticing wrinkles etc. She looked at me and said you don’t have an aging problem you have a moisture problem. I looked at her with a puzzled look on my face and the only thing I heard coming out of my mouth was “huh?” she explained that a lot people suffer from more of a moisture problem than a real aging problem dryness can cause one’s skin to look older and duller than anything else a good moisturizer will not only make your skin feel better but also make the skin more alive and vibrant.  Also, drinking plenty of water not only helps moisture the skin it helps it glow by flushing out all those toxins too!

Stay away from the sugar! Here’s why when you have a high sugar diet the sugar attaches itself to your collagen and the elastin the two components that keep you skin plump and firm when the sugar attaches to the college and elastin it makes them rigid so it’s easier for wrinkles to form the process it called glycation. In a study both men and women who drastically cut their sugar looked up to 10 years younger you can start to notice a difference even if it’s a slight change like switching from beer (which is high in sugar) to wine you will start to notice a difference in just a few days.

Rethink how you shave. Shaving is a sacred ritual but are you doing it right? Here are a few things to consider.  Take your time shaving don’t rush through it instead the more time you spend preparing the better your shave will be. First let the shaving cream sit a few minutes,  kill some time by brushing your teeth or combing your hair the reason is the extra time the cream sits on your beard the better the chances of a one pass shave will be.

The less stokes the less chances of getting a cut. Use a brush instead of your fingers the brush will push the shaving cream into the beard this will allow you to use a single blade instead of a multi blade razor. Invest in a good shaving kit nothing will help you more in achieving the perfect shave than a good shaving kit. Gentleman Jon’s Wet Shaving Kit has some great reviews and the price is not bad at 55.00 on Amazon.  Occasionally let the pro’s handled it. Nothing will feel better and more relaxing than sitting in the barber’s chair with a nice hot towel on your face and catching a few zzz’s while the professional takes over every man should have this experience at least once in his life it’s a wonderful way to pamper yourself if your wife or girlfriend can go get their nails done then you should be able to experience a little pampering yourself by getting a professional shave.

Whether you do one or all the above make a change in your daily routine that helps to improve and promote the best product that the world sees and that is yourself!

To Beard or Not ?

main-qimg-ba8861b5bdbb0694d2fd7d068b78e410-c

I can honestly say I have never been a huge fan of beards. But, admittedly after seeing Travis Fimmel play Ragnar Lothbrook I became a huge fan. Perhaps it was the character, but I soon came to believe that facial hair can be real sexy if on the right man. So, the question becomes to grow a beard or not?

Just because you can grow a beard doesn’t mean that you should. The mainly objective is to compliment your face not do the opposite, and the way a beard is sported can make or break a face. Take for example the style of beards. If you decide to go all out and grow an unruly bushy beard which very few men can pull off (remember you’re not Ragnar Lothbrook from Vikings) most men attempting to sport that kind of beard will end up having their face looking fatter and end up looking like an unmade bed rather the sexy Ragnar. Also at the other end of the spectrum you have the exceptional perfect beard you know the one that is so perfect it looks like it was done with a ruler and was calculated done to the last centimeter! Interestingly, enough there was a study done at the University of South Wales they found that people who shown photos of men that had beards vs men that were clean shaven found the clean-shaven men were rated more attractive. But, the same study also found that when beards are rarer and not trendy they gained an advantage just food for thought.

Well that can look just as bad if you have a rounder face to begin with it can accentuate the double chin your caring and make you look like a dough boy rather than Adonis! With that said you also need to know if your face can handle that facial hair in the first place here are a few things to consider.

The shape of your face if your face is fat something like a go tee can end up making you look like an overweight chipmunk not flattering at all. You might wish to grow a beard that is more pointer to have your face look longer and it help thin out your face. Likewise, of your face is rather skinny a wider beard can help ad a fullness to those gaunt cheekbones making you appear healthier and more refreshed. The key is to look better not worse you may also at the end of the day a freshly shaven face looks best. But for those of you wishing to take on this endeavor there are a few things to remember.

First, not all hair is created equal just because you can easily grow hair on you head doesn’t mean you can on face. Facial hair can grow patchy and uneven. Second, you cannot grow a nice beard in a day it takes time so don’t get frustrated. Third, invest in beard care products. Just like your hair needs certain products so does your beard. Invest in beard balls and oils and washes that tame that facial mane! Finally make sure your beard is doing your face justice your face is the first thing people see so make sure your putting your best face forward!
